EMTT

What is EMTT - Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy?

For regeneration and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders.

Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT®) is a non-invasive treatment that has been specially developed for treating musculoskeletal (MSK) pain and other disorders.

Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT) with the MAGNETOLITH® opens up new possibilities in regeneration and rehabilitation.

The areas of application include diseases of the musculoskeletal system such as lower back pain, arthritis, inflammation of tendons and joints as well as acute injuries. Disorders of the musculoskeletal system are the most common cause of (chronic) pain and include back pain and osteoarthritis as well as typical sports injuries such as inflammation of the tendons and joints.

We achieve excellent results when used in conjunction with our Storz Radial and Focused Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (rESWT) equipment.

Typical conditions treated with EMTT

  • Pain Therapy

Chronic pain, e.g. back pain (lumbago), tension, radiculopathies, heel pain.

  • Joint Diseases

Signs of wear and tear, e.g. arthrosis (knee, hip, hands, shoulder, elbow), herniated disc, spondylarthrosis.

  • Sports Injuries

Chronic inflammation of tendons and joints, tendon overload syndrome, osteitis pubis.

EMTT Treatment

We will take a detailed medical history from you to learn about the history of the symptoms and to gain important additional information by asking specific questions. This is then followed up by a hands-on examination, using special orthopaedic tests, if required.

We use the MAGNETOLITH by the Swiss company Storz Medical, one of the world’s leading companies in EMTT and Shockwave therapy.

Combination Therapies

EMTT therapy is an ideal addition to shockwave therapy. These two treatments work hand in hand to relieve both pain and induce healing.

When booking a combination of Osteopathy, shockwave and EMTT, I will ensure you receive the optimum balance of each. It may seem more expensive initially, but it will achieve better/faster results and is more cost effective in the long run. EMTT and Shockwave therapy have a cumulative effect, clinical evidence suggests for EMTT 6-10 treatments are generally recommended (twice per week).

Conditions treated include:

  • Degenerative joint diseases

FAQs

  • The treatment is suitable for adults.

  • The treatment is not suitable for:

    • People who are pregnant

    • People with implants that are »not MR Safe«

    • People with pacemakers and other electronic implants

  • The treatment is very safe and painless, there are no reported side effects to this treatment and there are only a few instances where the treatment will be unsuitable for you. It can be integrated with other shockwave therapy and Osteopathy for the treatment of chronic and acute pain in musculoskeletal diseases and injuries.

  • The therapy is usually delivered in a course of treatments over a number of weeks. Typically six treatments are given; twice a week for two weeks then weekly for the final two sessions. Block treatment purchase is the most cost-effective way to do this. ‘Top up’ treatments can be bought individually.

  • Each session lasts between 20-30 minutes.

  • This technology was CE approved in March 2020 and we are just one of a handful of UK Clinics able to offer this advanced treatment.
