WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR CLINIC

Our patient-centred approach means that treatment is specific to your symptoms and individual needs. By treating the underlying cause, rather than just the symptoms, a better outcome can be achieved.

At the initial appointment a detailed medical history is taken, in order to fully understand the nature of your complaint. This is followed by an examination of the area and then treatment; if appropriate. We will discuss a treatment plan with you and estimate the likely number of treatments to help successfully resolve your condition. On average, patients can expect to be seen three or four times for their condition. Though this will vary depending on the severity of the complaint, chronicity and the health and age of the patient. Simple strain/sprain injuries may require just a couple of sessions, where as a chronic back complaint will require longer care. Patients are encouraged to wear lose comfortable clothing during their appointment.

Your Treatment

The treatment is focused towards your particular needs and is informed by your medical history and findings from the examination. We use a range of gentle hands on techniques including soft tissue massage, stretching, mobilisation and manipulation of joints (HVLATs - High Velocity Low Amplitude Thrust). We also use sophisticated focused and radial Shockwave therapy (ESWT) and EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy). Additional fees for these treatments apply.

We want you to feel involved in your recovery process and will usually prescribe exercise, stretching, nutritional or life style modifications to help achieve this. When a treatment plan is agreed, the patient is sent an exercise rehabilitation plan via email, using the Rehab My Patient application. So, no need to remember all the exercise details the practitioner gives you!
