ABOUT MARK STOCKWELL OSTEOPATHY
Mark Stockwell, Registered Osteopath And Shockwave Therapist
Mark Stockwell is a registered osteopath, graduating from Oxford Brookes University in 2007, following five years of osteopathic study. He is a member of The General Osteopathic Council (GOSC), and The Institute of Osteopathy (iO).
Mark is trained and experienced in using shockwave therapy as a treatment option for musculoskeletal conditions. Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-intensity sound waves to stimulate tissue regeneration and promote healing.
Training and investment in recent, leading edge technologies has allowed Mark to expand treatment options for those hard to treat painful conditions, by using shockwave therapy as part of a holistic treatment approach to chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Shockwave Therapy and Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT®) are seen increasingly as offering new hope for painful joints, and other chronic conditions that have not been helped with traditional conservative interventions.
In addition, Mark uses osteopathy, exercise prescription, and lifestyle modifications to improve function, reduce pain, and enhance overall health and well-being.
Mark is also a qualified massage and manipulative therapist from the Midland School of Massage and Manipulative therapy and is also qualified in western medical acupuncture, or dry needling, as it is also known.
Mark originally obtained a sport and leisure related degree from Marjons in Plymouth, which lead to a lengthy career in the Fitness Industry. He developed his interest in sport and the problems associated with sport injuries while representing his college in swimming, squash and basketball.
Mark has also done some media work with a personal appearance on Ch4 Street Wise programme (1988) and several interviews on Radio 5 Live (2002-04).
